It is also the case that the glass can shatter when the oven is not in use, leaving victims baffled about the cause.
Cleaning is a big reason for these explosions as any cleaning products that containing caustic soda (or sodium hydroxide) should be completely avoided as this is corrosive and can scar the glass, making it unstable and prone to fracture. Even worse is that caustic soda becomes more corrosive and potent at higher temperatures so that even the tiniest amount left on the glass and then gets into a scratch, can become very destructive.
